This service will provide you the opportunity to ride in some of the different Treeless makes and models so that you may experience them for yourself, prior to purchase, which will allow you to determine if this option is right for you! As an Equine Therapist I feel a responsibility to assist others in finding appropriate saddles to fit their equine partners. There is a movement beginning towards a more natural approach to training and riding, which I am very excited about.

A lot more emphasis is being put on the horse’s comfort now as well as the riders. There are now numerous treeless systems out there which are great options for a few reasons including; affordability, flexibility, allowance for proper muscle development and natural movement, increased positive communication and connection, and most important…..COMFORT! for you and your horse.

These saddles will help you become a more centered, balanced rider and will allow you to be more in tune with your horse and achieve increased responsiveness with subtle aids and cues.

Some makes of treeless saddle have a fixed pommel or horn while others have a removable piece which can be swapped out for alternate shapes and sizes. These pieces help to protect the exposed thoracic vertebra of the withers. They are added for the protection of the horse, not support for the rider. Therefore, I would not recommend them for any use where there may be substantial force applied to the horn or pommel.
